Factors affecting non-adherence to the public recommendation of mask use in Bangladesh: a nationwide survey

Effective communication plays an important role in any uncertain situation to reduce its risks. The recent coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has created uncertainties human lives around the world. Although infection and deaths rates are decreasing, need for protective measures risk of affecting people by virus remains high. Moreover, experts recommend that wear face masks public places despite vaccination. Evidence shows different parts world tend not use places, Bangladesh is no exception this phenomenon. Little known about topic from context country. In study, we explored factors influence non- adherence recommendation using places. We conducted a cross-sectional survey among 1,868 across country between March 2021 December 2021. used semi- structured questionnaire collect data. results indicate associated with people’s age, education, location residence; perception COVID-19; trust messages media authorities; barriers effective communication, religious faith, cost buying masks.
